Enrollment Information - New Families

Dear Prospective Families,

Thank you so much for your interest in having your child join the BSCS family. Our small class size allows our teachers to really know your child and to support them in these formative years. That personal relationship between your family and BSCS begins with the admissions process.

You are encouraged to schedule a personal tour. We are offering in person tours provided that you wear a mask and have a temperature check at the door. The tour schedule is as follows:

Mondays/ Wednesdays/Friday @ 10:00 a.m. (K3-Grade 7)

Tuesdays/Thursdays @ 9:00 a.m. (K3-Grade 7)

Monday – Thursday @ 1:00 p.m. (Grades 1 – 7)

These tours are by appointment only. Please email me to set up an appointment by emailing

After your tour, we hope that you will submit the application.

There is no formal evaluation process for students entering K3 or K4. Children must be fully potty-trained.

Once an application has been received for students applying to K5 – Grade 7 and their academic records have been reviewed, you will be contacted to schedule either a play assessment or buddy day.  These visits are the opportunity for our teachers to assess their readiness for our program as well as for your child to give you feedback about BSCS. The academic records submitted may be an unofficial copy of their last two report cards and any MAP testing. Parents should also submit documentation specific to medical, cognitive, behavioral, special needs, etc., if applicable.

BSCS Play Assessment/ Buddy Day Schedule

Applicants for K5: A 30-minute “play date” to spend time in K4. Mondays or Thursdays from 11 – 11:30 a.m.

Applicants for Grades 1 – 4: Morning visit (9:00 – 11:00 a.m.) on Monday, Wednesday or Thursdays

Applicants for Grades 5 – 7: Full day visit (8:30 – 2:00 p.m.) on Monday – Thursday.

New enrollment is contingent upon space availability and other factors, including the child’s prior academic and disciplinary records. Because Catholic education is the primary mission of all Catholic schools of The Diocese of Charleston, priority may be given to active Catholic parishioners.  Priority is given to Blessed Sacrament Church families, followed by active members of other Catholic parishes, then All Others.

In the event that the class is at capacity, your child will be placed on a waiting list. Unfortunately, this does not guarantee that a place will be available. You will be notified when there is an opening for your child.  The waiting list is yearly and not carried from year-to-year.

BSCS adheres to the South Carolina Department of Education age requirements for admission.
•    Children entering K3 program must be 3 years old on or before September 1st (and totally toilet trained - no exceptions).
•    Children entering K4 must be 4 years old on or before September 1st.
•    Children entering K5 must be 5 years old on or before September 1st.
•    Children entering 1st grade must be 6 years old on or before September 1st.

Acceptances for the 2022 – 2023 school will be mailed out by February 15th, 2022. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to meeting you and your child soon.
